ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

The Temporary Sr. Human Resources Coordinator provides operational and administrative support across all areas of Human Resources. This role serves as a primary point of support for the HR team as well as internal clients to facilitate day-to-day HR administration. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of California employment laws, exceptional organizational skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

 

Employee Support & HR Administration

  • Manage and respond to inquiries received through the HR shared inbox with a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers, providing timely guidance and connecting stakeholders with appropriate resources to ensure effective resolution of HR-related matters.
  • Exercise sound judgment in identifying and escalating complex employee relations, leave of absence, and compliance issues to HR leadership when appropriate.
  • Assist in preparing clear, accurate, and impactful HR communications that keep employees informed and connected.
  • Maintain employee records and documentation with a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

 

Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding activities to create a welcoming and engaging transition for new employees.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate completion of employment documentation to ensure a seamless start.
  • Provide benefits orientation and enrollment support, helping employees make informed decisions about their coverage options.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and cross-functional teams to deliver a positive, consistent, and supportive onboarding experience.
  • Support offboarding processes and employee status changes with professionalism, care, and attention to the employee experience.

 

HR Compliance & Documentation

  • Assist with employee handbook updates and policy enhancements that support organizational objectives and evolving business needs.
  • Prepare employment-related documentation, including status changes, compensation updates, title changes, and organizational reporting adjustments.
  • Support HR audits and compliance initiatives by ensuring accurate documentation and process adherence.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, with particular attention to California employment law requirements and best practices.

 

HR Systems & Organizational Data

  • Support employee data and status changes within HR systems, ensuring timely and accurate record management.
  • Maintain organizational charts and reporting structures using Visio or similar tools to provide visibility into workforce planning and organizational alignment.
  • Update job descriptions and position documentation to reflect evolving business priorities and organizational needs.
  • Leverage HR data and systems to support informed decision-making and operational effectiveness.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture Support

  • Prepare, launch, and administer employee pulse surveys to capture feedback and strengthen the employee experience.
  • Compile survey results and assist with reporting, analysis, and actionable insights that support continuous improvement.
  • Support company events, recognition initiatives, and employee programs that foster engagement, connection, and a collaborative workplace culture.
  • Partner across teams to help create an environment where employees feel valued, heard, and empowered to contribute.

 

Records Management

  • Organize and digitize personnel files and HR documentation to improve accessibility, efficiency, and record integrity.
  • Ensure paper records are accurately scanned, indexed, and maintained within electronic filing systems.
  • Safeguard confidential employee information and maintain records in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and established retention practices.
  • Promote consistency and quality in HR documentation through disciplined records management and process ownership.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience may be considered.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in California.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding, HR administration, benefits, and compliance processes.
  • Experience maintaining employee files and HR records.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems.
  • Experience supporting handbook maintenance, job descriptions, and organizational charts preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment laws, wage and hour requirements, leave and accommodation basics, and HR best practices

 

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG, ADP, Workday, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Visio or equivalent organizational chart software.
  • Ability to create surveys and analyze basic survey results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving.

The compensation package includes:

  • $28-$32/hr
