ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to manufacturing personnel to produce high quality products for our customers. Responsibilities include direct management of production personnel, fulfillment of the production schedule, and ensuring quality compliance. Provide operations expertise to the supervision and support of manufacturing personnel to achieve New Product Development, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Compliance and Operational metrics. Supervise the activities of employees in the production area. Ensure that daily production schedules are met, manufacturing procedures are followed, and all production personnel are trained in those procedures. Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees by following company policies and department guidelines.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supervise production personnel and activities to consistently meet customer requirements across commercial products, new product introductions, and clinical builds, ensuring every output supports high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Lead the team in achieving production goals across Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost, fostering a results-driven environment that balances operational excellence with smart, forward-thinking decision-making.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and respect by promoting an injury-free work environment, maintaining high employee morale, and reinforcing adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with quality systems (FDA, GMP, QSR, ISO), product specifications, and company policies, upholding integrity through disciplined execution and transparent management of non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Continuously challenge processes and team performance to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions, encouraging innovation and calculated risk-taking to improve outcomes.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, drive accountability, and recognize contributions, fostering a collaborative team environment built on trust and shared success.
  • Administer and execute company policies and procedures consistently, ensuring alignment across individuals and team structures.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key performance metrics, leveraging data-driven insights to guide decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain timecards and attendance records, proactively planning for coverage needs and adapting to workforce fluctuations with agility.
  • Effectively manage shifting priorities and competing demands, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in a dynamic production environment.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential failure modes related to quality or business risks, reinforcing a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top production talent, building a high-performing team equipped to meet evolving business and customer needs.
  • Assess and address training needs, ensuring employees are fully prepared and confident before undertaking responsibilities.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance quality, improve productivity, reduce costs, and streamline cycle times, while empowering the team through education and engagement.
  • Forecast material, tool, and supply requirements, coordinating effectively to ensure seamless production flow and operational readiness.
  • Support ERP-related activities, including accurate entry of work order information as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate closely with Planning to ensure alignment and efficiency in daily operations.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges with urgency and accountability, working cross-functionally to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures and processes, supporting innovation and successful product introductions.
  • Create, review, and approve document change orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with production needs.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and identifying development opportunities to support individual and team growth.
  • Operate effectively within a clean room environment, maintaining strict adherence to protocols and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability, ownership, and a commitment to team and organizational success.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Supervisor certification or AA preferred.

Experience:

  • 1 year Manufacturing Supervisor experience (Medical Device preferred).
  • 6+ years of related manufacturing experience in a leadership role (Internal Candidates).

 

Skills/Compentencies:

  • Experience working with manufacturing/ERP systems (QAD preferred).

  • Working knowledge of quality system requirements (QSR) and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment and application of environmental procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or similar computer software.
