ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator I to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will provide technical support to employees across the organization, maintain both on-site and cloud-based systems, and contribute to a variety of IT initiatives and projects.

We’re looking for a quick learner and proactive self-starter who is highly motivated and eager to grow their career in IT. The ideal candidate is either beginning their career in systems administration or brings a few years of experience in a similar role and is ready to build on a strong technical foundation.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Maintain and configure IT infrastructure operations—including desktops, servers, virtualization, and storage—under the guidance of System Administrators and the Supervisor, ensuring reliable systems that ultimately support improved patient outcomes.
  • Perform daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes; review system and application logs; and confirm completion of scheduled jobs such as backups to uphold the highest standards of quality and accountability.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating transparently with impacted users through Service Desk Plus Manage Engine, demonstrating integrity and ownership in every resolution.
  • Oversee multi-site VMware and NETAPP storage environments, including capacity planning and resource monitoring, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage Office 365, including Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams, along with configuration of all tenant security policies to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient collaboration across teams.
  • Support the planning and scheduling of hardware and software upgrades and maintenance, staying adaptable and forward-thinking to advance our technology environment.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, and IT service backup strategies to safeguard critical systems and reinforce operational excellence.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring systems (e.g., System Center Configuration Manager and SolarWinds) to ensure visibility, performance, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Install and configure network hardware and software, taking smart, well-informed risks when implementing improvements that enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Maintain network, email, and application security through network hardware controls and password governance, prioritizing transparency, quality, and data protection.
  • Monitor network performance, security, and event logs using SolarWinds utilities, staying curious and responsive to emerging risks and optimization opportunities.
  • Configure and implement new services as needed to support business growth and innovation.
  • Perform scheduled diagnostics, updates, and configuration changes to network components and operating systems, ensuring stable and secure operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve network errors and failures with urgency and precision to minimize disruption and maintain trust across the organization.
  • Deploy and maintain Microsoft System Center for patch management, software deployment, and inventory management across all supported systems.
  • Manage Cisco Call Manager across multiple sites, including user provisioning and license management, enabling seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct physical and license audits of hardware and software, maintaining compliance and operational integrity.
  • Identify needs and prepare purchase requests for hardware and software, supporting strategic growth and responsible resource management.
  • Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures affecting network and security administration, ensuring compliance and accountability.
  • Coordinate network support with contracted hardware, software, and service providers, partnering across teams and external stakeholders to drive exceptional results.
  • Provide management with periodic network status updates and maintenance schedules, maintaining transparency and alignment.
  • Participate in weekend and after-hours work as needed to support system reliability and business continuity.
  • Serve as a technical trainer on new and existing technologies, fostering knowledge-sharing and strengthening collaboration across the organization.
  • Comply with all change management procedures, balancing bold innovation with disciplined execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor in support of team objectives and organizational priorities.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent IT experience.

 

Experience:

  • 2+ years supporting corporate IT environments.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise network operations and systems administration, maintaining secure and reliable infrastructure that supports business continuity and improved patient outcomes.
  • Strong customer focus, providing responsive and high-quality IT support while proactively anticipating and addressing evolving organizational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Windows Server (2012/2016/2019), Exchange, Office 365, SQL Server, Teams, IIS, and web hosting, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of core network and server services including DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, HTTPS, file and print services, synchronization, and time services.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware), NAS/SAN storage (preferably NetApp), backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical systems and ensure operational resilience.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filtering, anti-virus, intrusion protection, and system monitoring, maintaining integrity and data protection across environments.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues quickly and accurately, thinking analytically and driving issues to closure with urgency and accountability.
  • Experience using Manage Engine Service Desk Plus, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (MSCCM), and related tools for ticketing, configuration management, patching, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in dynamic environments, adapting approach as needed while maintaining attention to quality and detail.
  • Collaborative partner who works effectively across application, project, and administrative teams—as well as third-party vendors—to implement solutions that drive efficiency and shared success.
  • Sound decision-making skills with the confidence to take smart, well-managed risks in pursuit of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, producing clear documentation and delivering information concisely and professionally.
  • Experience managing vendor escalations and third-line support processes preferred.
  • SharePoint Online/on-premise administration, SQL Server administration, Linux configuration, and corporate video editing (Adobe Premiere) experience considered advantageous.

The compensation package includes:

  • Pay range of $38.46/hr-$43.87/hr
