Overview

Assist Engineers in the execution and documentation of protocols and reports. Perform maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair on a variety of circuits, components, analytical equipment and instrumentation for laboratory and manufacturing equipment.  Specifies and requests purchase of components.  Analyzes results and may develop test specifications and electrical schematics.  Maintain all logs and required documentation.  May prepare technical reports with recommendations for solutions to technical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and/or create protocol documentation with minimal assistance.
  • Perform preventive service and repair to equipment, small machinery and manufacturing process tools.
  • Assemble prototype devices, test equipment, and tooling according to verbal and/or written specifications.
  • Complete projects in a manner consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Support prototype and pilot production of new products, product changes and enhancements in coordination with the Manufacturing and Quality Control functions.
  • Be able to use the electrical hand tools and various other hand tools located in the Tool Room.
  • Machine and/or rework components used in product builds and actively work to minimize scrap.
  • Proactively communicate process problems to management.
  • Perform Equipment Installation Qualification (IQ) testing according to verbal and/or written specifications.
  • Assist engineers in product qualification testing according to verbal and/or written specifications.
  • Maintain good knowledge of current process methods, documentation and procedures
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, GMP practices, and FDA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Position will require you to be working onsite at 100% and requires proof that the applicant is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable law

Qualifications

  • Works on assignments that are complex in nature in which considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Drafting knowledge, Solidworks preferred.
  • May determine design changes and tests methods on new assignments and may provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel.

Education:

  • Requires a high school diploma, AA degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years technician or related experience, medical device industry preferred
  • Experience using basic machine shop equipment is a plus.
