  • Overview

    As a member of the Human Resources Team reporting initially to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Manager,Talent Acquisition is responsible for partnering with business leaders to provide consultative talent acquisition services for a variety of exempt and non-exempt level positions. Assesses the talent acquisition approaches and strategies to ensure optimum return on investment from a cost basis, but more importantly, to superior quality of hires. This includes implementation and measurement of sourcing and external branding strategies. This manager also provides expertise and counseling to hiring managers to help them identify the most effective and innovative candidate sourcing and selection strategies for current and future staffing needs (pipelining). Leads the overall company strategy for talent acquisition and develops objectives in collaboration with other HR partners in the US and abroad. It is expected that initially this manager will also carry a personal recruiting load of 15-20 positions. In the future, this may decrease as additional resources are brought on to meet demands.

    This person will spend the majority of his/her time performing research, analysis, problem solving and generating new solutions/ideas to implement successful recruiting actions. The incumbent is required to continuously think of new and improved methods for process improvement, relationship management, and services for the Talent Acquisition Team and HR overall. There is a direct correlation between this person’s ability to perform successfully and the successful performance of the company. Expectations are for this person to use persuasion, listening, and project management skills to successfully source and engage candidates for a variety of technical and non-technical openings.

    Responsibilities

    Aggressively recruits for well-qualified exempt and non-exempt candidates from a variety of sources, assesses candidate pool, selects candidates, interviews finalists, recommends top candidates to hiring managers for further consideration, and provides input and guidance through the selection process as appropriate.

    Proactively evaluates and assesses the business functions’ staffing needs and organizational and reporting structure to implement creative, efficient, and effective sourcing and recruitment campaigns for current and future openings by:

    • Applying expertise and knowledge to build a properly defined candidate profile pipeline and job description necessary to drive an effective sourcing program;
    • Interviewing hiring managers to gain standard information as well as to clarify ambiguous information necessary to thoroughly complete the staffing requisition and candidate profile;
    • Where appropriate, providing training and direction on Targeted Selection methods and proper and effective legal interviewing techniques;
    • Researching top performers to profile and make recommendations to the Manager, Human Resources as well as hiring manager as to unique and diverse methods of sourcing quality candidates;
    • Promoting and enhancing employee referral program;
    • Executing against creative sourcing techniques for hard-to-fill positions including direct sourcing, internet recruiting, networking, name generation, creative cold-calling, university relations, industry events, utilization of external research, etc.
    • Building and maintaining a competitive intelligence database qualifying and extracting information from multiple data sources to create a candidate pipeline for current and future hiring needs;
    • Integrating diversity into the staffing process;
    • Establishing proper expectation levels for all parties involved in hiring practices by coordinating, implementing, and continuously improving the staffing and selection process with hiring managers;
    • Recognizing the different perspectives and priorities of functional groups within the Company to effectively meet the diverse needs and timing of the various business leaders;
    • Works to achieve staffing metrics and goals including quality of applicant pools, diversity, number of hires, hiring manager and candidate satisfaction, cost-per-hire, etc.
    • Administer and maintain the ATS (iCIMS) to ensure processes and reporting is done accurately and efficiently.
      • Reporting and record-keeping through knowledge of an applicant tracking system and/or staffing database systems. Will assist with EEO reporting.
    • Manages one or more direct or contract employees.

    Qualifications

      • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment law and equal employment guidelines and policies including the principles and practices of staffing administration including methods and techniques used in recruitment and selection.
      • Business acumen to elicit trust and credibility with all levels of the organization.
      • Demonstrated significant staffing experience in handling challenging human resource/recruitment issues in a diverse and dynamic environment.
      • Demonstrated expertise to conduct innovative sourcing and prescreening activities and related assessment tools.
      • Demonstrated expertise of research methods and report preparation.
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively take action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment and successful stress tolerance.
      • Experience with a variety of Applicant Tracking Systems.
      • Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
      • Teamwork/Collaboration expertise with significant experience in team/project-oriented activities.
      • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a variety of human resources issues with successful outcomes and demonstrate openness to new ideas and approaches.
      • Strong understanding and appreciation of a diverse work environment and have demonstrated initiatives for recruiting for diversity.

      Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.

       

    Minimum Education:

     

    ·         Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Minimum Experience:

     

    • 5+ years of experience working closely with hiring managers on behavioral interviewing and consultative recruiting as well as other human resources issues in a dynamic and diverse environment.

    5+ years of experience assessing and identifying the needs of hiring managers and developing creative staffing strategies to implement effective staffing plans.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and to move within and between the buildings. A computer terminal is used to access, input, and retrieve data. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
